2-flute Extended-reach Corner-radius Carbide End-mills (MM202) - 1/2" Shank
Corner-radius (bull-nose) end-mills are designed to produce smooth, artifact-free surfaces in the bottoms of slots and pockets at much higher chiploads than either fish-tail (square) or ball-nose cutters.
Extended-reach end-mills feature a reduced diameter neck that starts where the flutes end. This allows the bit to be used in multi-pass machining operations to penetrate much deeper than the length of the flutes. Necking the tool in this fashion enhances the rigidity of the cutter, reducing deflection and chatter under heavy chiploads.
Think & Tinker 2-flute 1/4 in. and 1/2 in. shank end-mills feature an off-center plunging tip style enhanced with revisions to the cutting edges and flute profile. These changes result in bits with improved cutting properties in a wider range of materials. Our tools are routinely used to shape and engrave metals, plastics, all types of woods and a wide variety of composites.
Manufactured in the USA, every tool is:
- 100% measured / optically inspected to insure that EVERY tool meets, or exceeds, our published specifications
- made from premium grade submicrograin tungsten carbide (HRa 92, HRc 80)
This attention to detail and the use of top quality materials result in tools with dependable cutting characteristics and one of the longest tool lives in the market. Combined with comprehensive customer support, our cutters have become the tools of choice for sign makers, model makers, artists and instrument builders around the world.
